Xavien "Zay" Kevonn Flowers is an American football wide receiver for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League. He played college football at Boston College and was selected by the Ravens in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Zay Flowers has been impressive with his ability to consistently get open
Of the six receivers selected in the first round over the Ravens history, none have reportedly shown Flowers' level of route-running and ability to get open as a rookie. Other terms used by coaches and teammates have been shifty, very fast and explosive. Flowers is one of three tightly-grouped rookie receivers following Jaxon Smith-Njigba in dynasty rookie drafts with some fearful of his Baltimore landing spot. There's little question the undersized prospect has the dynamic to be a day-one starter, but how he fares when compared to 2023's other rookie receivers remains to be seen. He's listed as DLF's WR28 showing significant expectation is attached.

The Baltimore Ravens selected wide receiver Zay Flowers with the 22nd overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
As expected, there was a late run on wide recievers in round one and Flowers was taken right behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba (Seattle) and Quentin Johnston (Chargers). In the end, Flowers could end up being the best of the bunch as he looks the part of a dominant slot receiver at worst. Things could start slowly for him with the presence of the newly-added OBJ, but that's short-lived. There will be much debate between the three rookie receivers taken in succession in this Spring but Flowers is a solid choice in the middle of round one of rookie drafts, especially now that Lamar Jackson is in the fold long-term.

According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler: "Don't be shocked if Boston College's Zay Flowers is the first wide receiver off the board. His stock is surging."
Now THAT's buzz! Flowers is unquestionably 2023's rookie Tyreek Hill equivalent that teams are now looking for each draft season. While somewhat undersized, Flowers made up for lost time following the end of he college season to add a reported 12 pounds of muscle to tip the scales at 5'9/182 lbs. He turned in a 4.42 40-yard time and profiles well on tape as a player who can break off the line of scrimmage and separate on all routes. It will be a shock if Flowers ascends to this year's WR1 during the NFL Draft, but it's not out of the question. He's listed as DLF's WR4 and the R6 overall.

In Todd McShay's most recent mock draft, Zay Flowers is the second receiver off the board, selected 20th-overall by the Seahawks
It's the highest selection of Flowers we've seen yet and shows just how much the diminutive dynamic talent has been on the rise of late. Jaxon Smith-Njigba is still projected as the top-overall receiver but it's noteworthy that Flowers is now projected ahead of both Jordan Addison and Quentin Johnston. We have yet to see a recent mock draft from an NFL-connected analyst in which Flowers is not a first-round selection. Flowers is found as DLF's rookie WR4 and the R6 overall.

His first time is about as expected and after adding 13 lbs. of muscle following the end of his collegiate season, it's even more noteworthy. Flowers has been a frequent first-round selection in NFL mock drafts and is locked into a battle with Josh Downs to be dynasty's WR4, a rank which he appears to be holding.

Flowers has raised his stock of late as he reportedly added 13 lbs. of muscle since the end of the collegiate season. A fluid and dynamic route-runner, Flowers has been rising of late, appearing as the rookie WR3 on some occasions. Usually found locked in value close to that of Josh Downs, the Boston College rookie could separate himself with a good performance at the Combine this weekend. The only thing holding Flowers' value down is his lack of size, recently measuring at just over 5'9" and 182 pounds during the East-West Shrine Bowl. The added weight shows a commitment to what teams are looking for and while he can do nothing about his height, the dynamic prospect has answered questions about his ability to add weight for the next level. There's little question the Giants are going to be looking to address receiver this offseason. If not for his size (5'10/172), Flowers would be near the top of the position in the 2023 NFL Draft. He's an elusive, speed-agility product who is capable of running a full route tree with toughness greater than his frame. Flowers continues to rise on boards and is now expected to be a first-round selection in the draft and, likely, will follow suit near the bottom of the first round in dynasty rookie drafts as well. He's listed as DLF's rookie WR7 and the R14 overall, make for a potential early-second steal in rookie drafts.

Boston College receiver Zay Flowers was selected with the last pick in the first round by the Chiefs in Mel Kiper's most recent mock draft.
Juju Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hardman are both free agents and Hardman is nearly a guarantee to depart. The Chiefs selected Skyy Moore in the 2022 NFL Draft and traded for Kadarius Toney later in the season but it stands to reason the team could take another swing at finding consistent production following the loss of Tyreek Hill. Flowers is NFL-ready, possesses plus-level speed and agility while also running a full route tree, making him a sneaky back-end first-round selection. He's listed as DLF's WR7 and our R17 overall.
