Keenan Allen has restructured his contract to remain with the Chargers in 2023.
Mike Williams also restructured his contract though he was not in danger of being cut this offseason. Until this restructuring, Allen was looking like a cap casualty but it now looks like he'll be back in L.A. for his age-31 season. By all accounts, it was a miserable year for Allen who battled injury and posted his lowest totals since 2016 when he missed all but one game. The move to remain with the Chargers is good for all involved and though aging, should still be a viable asset for competitive dynasty teams as an upside WR3/WR4 receiver. He's listed as DLF's WR42.

Chargers GM Tom Telesco said: "Keenan Allen isn't going anywhere."
The Chargers remain cap-strapped and Allen's $21.7M hit this season is an issue. At the same time, there's arguably no greater offensive need for the team other than finding a way to retain the soon-to-be 31-year-old. Allen appeared in only 10 games for the team and the offense struggled mightily without his presence. In the eight games following his return from injury, the team was 5-3. Allen has remained one of the most unheralded receivers in the league over the past five years but Father Time has finally caught up to DLF's WR41 and he's now an intriguing low-cost option for competitive dynasty teams only.

The Chargers have to clear $23.4M to get under the cap and additional money if they wish to compete for free agents. Allen turns 31 in April and struggled with injury in 2022, appearing in only 10 games and producing a 66/752/4 stat-line, his worst performance since 2016. While Allen is an institution for the team, the numbers suggest he'll be released and become a free agent. Found as DLF's WR42, Allen is now a reasonably-priced acquisition target for competitive dynasty teams. He should have no shortage of suitors if released.
