Browns running backs coach Stump Mitchell said of Jerome Ford: "Jerome's got a skillset that allows him to do anything and everything" while noting pass protection remains his biggest challenge.
As long as Ford remains Nick Chubb's primary backup, the second-year back should garner material touches. But with multiple big-name veterans remaining on the free agent market, including Kareem Hunt who played with the Browns over the past four seasons, his backup role isn't assured. Ford only saw 12 carries in 2022 following his fifth-round selection in the 2022 NFL Draft, but with good size (5'10/210) and capable hands as a receiver, should he lock down the back up role, he presents a good value as DLF's RB65. Ford turns 24 in September.

Jerome Ford is going into camp as the favorite to be the backup to Nick Chubb.
Ford has been hyped up for the better part of the past month ever since it seemed evident the Browns had little interest in bringing back Kareem Hunt. Ford has shown well in limited action and would be a serious factor in fantasy leagues should Chubb miss time. If you're looking at handcuffs and sleepers at the running back position, Ford should be towards the top of your lists. Ford currently comes in as our RB68 and that seems like a scream of a deal in dynasty leagues at the moment.

Jerome Ford is positioned to be the RB2 for the Browns behind starter Nick Chubb.
Chubb turns 28 late in 2023 and Ford profiles well enough to move up the depth chart, replacing the departed Kareem Hunt. There's been talk out of Cleveland that the door is not closed on Hunt returning to the team and with a frosty free-agent market thus far for veteran runners. It's still possible the team could seek to add a veteran on a cheap contract. Without addition, Ford, who turns 24 in September, could have a chance to see material snaps in 2023 and significantly raise his dynasty value. Jerome Ford is listed as DLF's RB68.
