According to 49ers tight end George Kittle, quarterback Trey Lance "took steps forward in the OTAs"
It doesn't ring as much of an endorsement and Kittle referenced improvement over earlier struggles. Lance remains in a three-way competition for the starting role though 2023 phenom Brock Purdy is clearly the leader in the locker room and fully expected to the starter if/when healthy. Most recent reports also suggest newcomer Sam Darnold is in position to be the starter should Purdy miss time, an outcome that would render Lance the team's QB3. Also said to have no current trade market, it's fair to wonder what Trey Lance's future is with the team. He's found as DLF's QB22 and his ADP (178) rests near a career-low.
