2023 Off-Season Mock Drafts: DLF Staff Post-Draft 1QB Rookie Mock

A group of DLF staff members takes on a three-round post-draft rookie mock.

Dalton Kincaid

The 2023 NFL Draft has come and unceremoniously gone. As is the case with almost everything these days, the finished product failed to live up to the hype. From a dynasty perspective, things could not have gone much worse, especially considering this was going to be a "class for the ages."

We must move on, regardless of the outcome, and at DLF, we did just that. A panel of experts was gathered to complete a quick post-draft mock for one quarterback leauges.

Here is a round-by-round look at the results, highlighting things that stood out, along with some comments from all of those involved. We will also point out the risers and fallers from the pre-draft mock that was done just before the Player Selection Meeting in Kansas City.

Round One

The first six or seven picks went relatively unchanged from our pre-draft iteration of the one quarterback mock. Dalton Kincaid was easily the biggest riser of the bunch, climbing almost one full round. Kendre Miller has shot up draft boards as well, proving landing spot matters a great deal in terms of how we value rookies.

“The Ravens selecting Flowers so highly in the draft was a signal of a changing offense and a need for another weapon in the passing game.” – Sorry but I just disagree here. We heard this when they drafted Bateman in the first round a couple years back, they drafted Hollywood Brown in Rd1 couple years prior to that. They’ve tried to add weapons for Lamar multiple times and it’s never worked. Won’t be fooled again…

There’s a big difference between saying it and changing OCs. Monken isn’t Roman, and both have track records to reflect their offensive philosophies.

Eric- Who do you have ranked 1.02, 1.03, 1.04, 1.05 for this 1QB Rookie draft or do agree with the outcome. It seems everyone has a difference of opinions on Addison, Flowers, QJ.

Wow…. Gibbs is 1.04 behind Addison.
What makes QJ 1.05 instead of 1.03 or 1.04? Are they close? Is it risk factor oriented for you? I don’t mind waiting for him to develop a few years to hit that ceiling. I ask because I have those picks 1.02, 1.03, 1.04, 1.05. My original plan is 1.02 JSN, 1.03 Gibbs, 1.04 QJ/Flower/Addison? and 1.05 Anthony Richardson.
What is it for you that puts Addison at 1.03 or Flowers at 1.04?

I just took Deuce Vaughn in the 4th so I’m hoping Hogue knows something special.
