Devon Achane was one of the Dolphins more explosive players in camp
It's a continuation of the narrative and it's well known what Achane brings to the table. At the same time, the Dolphins have a full running back depth chart and it could take time before a more prominent role is realized. If not for his "undersized" (5'9/185) flag, the third-round 2023 NFL Draft selection would be found much higher than his current DLF RB33 ranking. Until proven otherwise, Achane's primary upside will come in PPR formats where his usage out of the backfield as a receiver could produce more big plays. Devon Achane has been a consistent late-first selection in dynasty rookie drafts.

The Miami Dolphins selected Devon Achane in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
The Miami Dolphins selected Achane with the 84th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Tabout as good as he could hope for as Miami currently has a veteran-laden (and injury prone) depth chart that includes the likes of Jeff Wilson, Raheem Mostert, Myles Gaskin and Salvon Ahmed. Achane is undersized but also very fast and was productive in the Nation's best conference. There is risk involved with him as the depth chart is in flux but a late first or early second rounder in rookie drafts is likely going to at least give you a solid chance at a good dynasty runner.

In Todd McShay's pre-draft buzz report, Devon Achane is a player who is "getting buzz."
4Achane is undersized but runs more physically than expected while also possessing the best speed-agility skills at the position in 2023 rookie draft. Running backs continue to be devalued at an ever-increasing pace in the NFL and with committee usage on the rise, a team is certain to find a role for Achane, a true playmaker, sometime on day two. He won't factor as an every-down player but has upside in dynasty PPR formats. Devon Achane is found as DLF's RB4 and our R9 overall.

In Matt Bowen's annual team fits article, he cites Cincinnati as the best destination for Devon Achane.
The Bengals are rumored to be willing to move on from Joe Mixon, so this move would make some sense if that's indeed the case. Achane has been a bit of a lightning rod in terms of dynasty valuation this off-season and he's finally settled in as our 9th best rookie. If he was to land in Cincinnati, it would be a solid destination and likely vault him up draft boards, possibly into the top five. We'll wait and see what happens, but Achane seems to be one of the most polarizing rookies in this year's class.

Devon Achane will be closely watched during the NFL Combine
Achane is, arguably, this year's most dynamic prospect at running back and only size issues are holding down his value. He won't measure in anywhere close 210 lbs., but anything greater than 185 lbs. and a frame to carry upwards of 200 lbs. would help immensely. Top NFL back Austin Ekeler plays at a listed 5'10" and 200 lbs. A weight north of 190 lbs. would significantly increase his draft stock. He's listed as DLF's rookie RB4 and the R9 overall.

Texas A&M dynamic running back Devon Achane is found as DLF's rookie RB5
Arguably, there's no greater risk-reward prospect than the undersized (5'9/185) Achane in the 2023 rookie draft. At 186 lbs., a carry-the-load role isn't in the cards for the dynamic speedster. At the same time, tape review finds a gritty runner with a solid foundation willing to run inside with power as much as he is around the corner, utilizing is game-breaking agility and speed. The NFL's continuing usage of roleplaying committee backs ensures that Achane won't go undrafted for long but as his DLF RB5 and R11 (overall) rankings show, his fantasy impact is expected to be muted due to size concerns.
